In San Francisco it would probably see a lot of use since the Superchargers are chronically overcrowded.I wonder what would happen if Tesla built a Supercharger next to an EVgo station with Tesla connectors...
I sincerely doubt it. You will need to pay for use like a Bolt or Leaf. This makes sense as it opens the chargers to what 90% of the EV marketWill they be able to simply plug and charge with automatic billing? With Tesla’s cooperation I hope this convenience is included.
They have started deploying 150kW chargers, and even 350kW at a small number of locations. But most of their chargers are 50kW.Does EVgo have anything faster than 50kW charging?
I paid 31 cents /kWh at the Supercharger in Corte Madera, CA and there was a waiting line to charge, so I would consider using EVgo to avoid the wait - especially with the AAA EVgo discount...
Yes, they have deployed a number of 80kW stations. Here is an example: PlugShare - Find Electric Vehicle Charging Locations Near YouDoes EVgo have anything faster than 50kW charging?
Well that's disappointing. So no deep involvement by Tesla besides supplying the Chademo adapters and cables with Tesla plug.I have it on good authority that this new EVgo deployment is merely a repackaged Tesla CHAdeMO adapter bolted to the side of the station with a Tesla cable fitted. The CHAdeMO plug must be plugged into the box on the side of the charger in order for it to work. Therefore, it is subject to the same 125A limitation as a genuine Tesla CHAdeMO adapter.
