Hey Folks,
My delivery specialist called in this morning to confirm the delivery of my Model 3 tomorrow. I thought I'd make a small thread to share the sentiments from yesterday's call versus tomorrow delivery.
The model I am getting tomorrow is a Model 3P with EAP. Following yesterday's announcement, I initially had an emotional reaction of "what the heck is happening here", which I guess I rationalized overnight.
Yes, it's a bit annoying that the price is decreasing. For the same amount I put, I could simply have the same car with EAP+FSD today, which is about a 5K EUR difference? This is annoying, and I'm pretty sure it's not the end of the price decrease and things like this.
On the other hand, if we closely believe what Elon and Tesla want to make happen, it was pretty clear from the start that everything that just happened would have happened. The 35k$ model 3 was their initial thought and was part of their initial master plan. I have been foolish to think it would not happen: they said over and over again that it would.
After all that, I am still excited to get my delivery tomorrow, more excited that I've ever been to take delivery of a car. I consider myself lucky to be one of the first to have this car in Belgium and I'll make sure to take some fun out of it! I hope to keep the car for multi-year time period if reliability is at the rendez-vous, so the devaluation is pretty pointless after all to me at this stage. (Small NOTE: I sold my land rover to buy the model 3, invoice price was 54k eur and I have been able to sell it for 27k.. after 14 months ownership, so tell me about devaluation...)
Finally, the only thing I would find appealing to me, is a special offer to people like me who paid full bucks for this EAP with no option to buy FSD at order time to be able to upgrade to FSD including hardware upgrade. I believe if Tesla propose me a good price for this (1-2k tops?), I would for sure go for it.
