Different charges during Supercharging.

Hello All,

I did a Myrtle beach trip over last week and for first time charged my Model-3 at Superchargers. The first 20 mins the Supercharger does around 450 mph - 525 mph, afterwards it starts dropping the mph rate of charging.

My question is, after first 20 mins of charging the cost/min is cost doubles (see receipt's below). So, can we disconnect at 19th minute and then re-plug at a different charging port in the same location, so it charge and cost the same??

Any thoughts??

Thanks!!

You’ve got it backwards. Power tier 2, the one that costs $0.26 a minute, is what your car started charging at. When your battery is at a lower state of charge it will accept a faster charge rate from the supercharger. Power tier 2 is when your car is charging above 60kW. As the battery fills up it isn’t able to take as fast a charge so it lowers to power tier 1 which is a charge rate at or below 60kW. See this page for more info: Supercharging
