Difference between 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 Sport, 2.5 Base and 3.0

For North America:
1.5 -> VIN 500 and below
2.0 -> VIN 501 - 963
2.5 -> 964+

A Sport will have badging on the rear and sides. Base has none.

3.0 is a nebulous term that simply means the car received the R80 battery upgrade at some point post-delivery. It's possible for a 1.5 car to get the R80 pack, but aside from the upgrade it still looks very much like a 1.5.

Adding on what @Tex EV state, here’s the vin decoder.

Remember, badging can be completely off since so many roadsters were delivered new without the correct badges. You should also consider listing on this page when you’re ready.
Good luck!

It’s in the sticky section.
If you have a Canadian spec roadster you may think about considering the Canadian market, there are very few cars here until 2024 when the first 2008 cars will be eligible to be imported.
