Went to go find some info on this Renovo... Their site couldn't handle the D

There is a thread here on the Renovo Coupe if you are curious. Unfortunately Renovo Motors is about to become a footnote in EV history. Perhaps Musk, Jurvetson, and Straubel could buy a few Coupes as a goodwill gesture to keep a local cottage industry afloat.

Saleen? what about Renovo Motors who were marketing their EV to be the worlds fastest electric vehicle by coming out with their EV next year that did 0-60 in 3.4s , 100 mile max range, top speed 120mph, and cost $529k. Some were even calling it "tesla on steriods". I guess they need to change all their marketing materials now, lol.

Perhaps Renovo can simply change their marketing materials to "the worlds fastest 2-door electric vehicle." Of course they may want to go ahead and add the words "in production" just in case Tesla offers Roadster owners an upgraded motor/inverter with the 400 mile battery pack whenever it finally appears.

Or, those at Renovo could send in their resumes to Tesla.

"ST 691" hits sub three seconds 0-60...

....2,8-2,9 in my calculations since Motortrend got 3,1 on their own clocks....

Saleen revealed the 416 in mid-August. Tesla revealed their car less than two months later, with AWD and seriously faster 0-60 time, even before there were any concrete reviews of the Saleen car. I'm sure this caused a major headache for Saleen. They spent a lot of money developing the 416 and would need to recoup it quickly, and it's fair to say that Tesla made fools out of them. Saleen probably saw some orders cancelled... which would not do their cashflow projections any good at all.

I don't know if this was ever released for real, but if you like the retro styling of the Renovo Coupe, it's worth taking a look at the Lightning GT:

Both the ecotricity nemesis and the Detroit Electric SP:01 look to be based upon Lotus products. Why does that seem so familiar...?
