I remember someone telling a story about how the front air dam on the mule didn't look right for the movie so someone went out to a hardware store and bought some plastic garden mesh (or somesuch) and hand cut and glued it to cover the opening, and people liked it so much it became somewhat of a standard feature (although I am sure vastly improved on the production cars).
