I'm surprised nobody has commented on the headline in the OP, "Mall Security Guards Debate Punishment Options for New Crime."

What law are they referring to? Is there something new on the books that attempts to fix the problem in California AB-475 which requires that a car be connected to the charging station or risk a ticket or tow?

And since when do mall security guards hand out punishments for crimes? Are they part of the judicial system now? :crying:
 
Here are photos of the CVC 22511 (AB475) signs that are posted at each of the charging stations at the Arden Fair Mall where the incident in the news story took place. When the woman unplugged a car that was parked in front of the sign, the EV that was unplugged was then technically in violation of the law and subject to being towed.
