Submitted the website form on Saturday and expect to get the full application via email in the next few days.

They also have an interesting statistics page where they plot the number of rebates over time and by type of vehicle (ZEV, PHEV, etc (but please take those discussions over to the dogma thread)).

I got a little carried away over the weekend and created a script to scape the data off the CVRP web site. Here's a chart of the remaining funds since the beginning of the year:

Follow the yellow line for the most realistic estimate of remaining funds (remaining minus pending). The chart should (hopefully) auto-update at midnight every night.

There have been a lot of new Volts, Plug-in Prii, LEAFs and even Ford Focus EVs sold in the past couple of months given many end-of-the-year deals; I'm seeing a lot of these new cars on the roads with no license plates yet.

* The chart shows 70-100k being reserved everyday.
* Assuming $70k/day - 42 days left
* Assuming $100k/day - 30 days left

The troubling part was that there's been renewed hope for getting the rebate. I wasn't expecting my car until May/June (no more money by then). But, my delivery window came up faster than expected (Feb 2nd - 16th), and now I'm hoping that there are no delays so that I can apply for the rebate. At the end of it all, I can't be sad if I don't get it. The sucky part is for the early reservation holders that are waiting for delayed options (multi-coat red, normal suspension, 40kwh), they will most likely not be getting this even though they reserved before me.

It's averaging $88,567 per day, since I started keeping track of the pending funds, and it looks pretty steady. Here's a snapshot of the graph today:

Notice the red line, which is remaining funds minus pending funds.

No, I don't have my license plates yet. And, no, you don't need them to apply; just the VIN along with the purchase order (final MVPA), temporary registration and a utility bill will do.

Good news - the last two days show only $30k being reserved. If it keeps up, I would guess that the holiday rush is over and we are back to a normal rate of submissions.
