Autopilot not available/ auto headlights won’t turn off

Since I got my initial response from Tesla saying "they were looking into it", I haven't heard from them.
Make sure to give them exact timestamps. I find it easiest to just snap a pic of the screen, so I have the timedata to reference later. Tesla can dig into the logs based on that time. If it ends up being a CPU issue, then the camera module that's replaced for some of us might not be the answer.

Any new information on this? I no longer have autopilot (trial expired) and haven't had issues for a while, but the headlight issue popped up again today. In addition, both rear windows had rolled down on their own when I came back to the car, and when I drove off the headlights stayed on in broad daylight, and the center screen showed neither speed limits nor other cars ahead of me as it usually does. Gremlins in my car. :(

Sounds like similar symptoms...make a timestamp and get an appointment. Give them the timestamp and they can dig into the logs to troubleshoot. I think Tesla knows what’s going on now and is trying some hardware solutions.

The only time I got this set of symptoms was after a failed update. Had to do without EAP until they managed to push the next update (which required a special step to reformat the flash drive to allow the re-update to succeed, otherwise it kept failing).

Update. Just got my M3 back from service with autopilot and auto lights working properly.

On the invoice. The technician stated to have replaced the ‘car computer’ and the. At the bottom of the invoice, MCU is noted. No mention of the camera assembly. But my AP works properly now and will continue to monitor it

This would support what the Service Specialist at the central call center in Utah, told me after looking at my diagnostic report. Again he indicated they have seen power supply failures on the "Autopilot computer" which causes faults on the ECU (aka: Central Intel Processor).

Maybe Tesla will replace our Autopilot computers with the new 10X faster "Tesla Processor" computer;)

So that would imply there are two separate CPUs? I feel like we're going to be playing wackamole until Tesla gets this right. Im near the end of trying though with my third visit and dealing with this for over 6 weeks now.

It seems my fundamental failure is "Cruise Not Available". I'm unclear why the camera's are needed for this to function properly. Doesn't TACC only rely on the radar? In does appear that you cannot have "Autosteer" without TACC functioning.
So basically I'm incline to think the root cause of the problem is the common "Autopilot" computer both use.

My car also suffered from the "cruise not available" error 100% of the time. I did not purchase EAP initially since I wanted to wait until it was perfected and noticed it was not working after installing the trial. Before this update, traffic was no longer being displayed, emergency braking/warning appeared to not trigger, and the auto wiper feature was not working.

I scheduled an appointment with my service center late August and the car has been there ever since. Last I heard they replaced the left camera repeater, but there were still issues. The engineers said it may be a bad coax cable, so that has been ordered (sounds like it is not in stock). There was also mention of replacing the computer, but they are going to try the cable first.

Was provided a Model S loaner; however, anxious to get my own car back.

I got a new software update last night to 36.2. Drove it this evening for 10 minutes on AP, and it became "Cruise Not Available" again. I reported via voice command, and also emailed our local SC.

Interestingly, I drove my car all around Long Island and in Queens today from 90% SOC down to 20%. As usual, almost all were on AP and didn't get any problem at all. It's gonna be tough to fix this intermittent problem...
