I was just checking my registration details and noticed that the model 3 is significantly heavier than my Audi Q5. Didn’t realise that the battery packs can make it that much heavier… 1761 vs 1570 kgs!

Not THAT much heavier, noting that when you add fuel to the Q5 it's well into the 1600 kg range.

There was only 100kg difference between our M3 and Camry, which again once fuel is in there, it's bugger all difference. The way the FUDsters like to go on, you'd think all EV's were twice the weight of comparable sedans.

I know the likes of BYD and legacy auto put massive batteries in their vehicles to try to match the range of Tesla as their vehicles are so inefficient, so that may result in a significantly higher average weight, I haven't really bothered to look into the weights of the other EV's out there so just speculating.
