Anyway, serious question - do they stick to the issued VINs? Or they will give you a different car with your configuration if it is available in the inventory?

That's a very good question. I have wondered why they bother with issuing/assigning VINs so early. It seems to make the whole system inflexible. Example, what happens if your assigned car gets damaged before delivery, so you go to the back of the queue as all cards are assigned?

And then, if an order is cancelled, it goes to the inventory, but it will never be given to those who ordered before and waiting? Weird-weird.

PSA for those waiting for deliveries in QLD and have their cars on FAce.
FAce is scheduled to dock early morning 07/02 and start unloading from 07/02 - 08/02 on Berth 1, Fisherman Islands Cargo Terminal.
Gracious ACE occupies Berth 1 and is expected to depart by 11:00 PM 06/02.

You sure? It’s scheduled to arrive in PK Feb 11th, which means it should be in and out of BNE before then.

QShips (Public Pages) has it arriving at anchor in Brisbane on the 8th, and berthing in Brisbane on the 14th.

QShips is generally the most reliable source for Brisbane movements. The Port Kembla sites seem to be very much best guesses.

I also got this email from Tesla, saying the car has arrived in Australia, the VIN is already registered on RAV.

Mine says "has arrived in Australia". And with the timing of FA docking in Brisbane this morning and the timing of the notification, I'd say it would be pretty safe to assume that our cars are unloaded in Brisbane.

Kind of. When we had those messages, FA hasn't even started unloading, but was waiting in the Melbourne port.

Would an earlier but longer window indicate that the car's there, but there's a bit of queue for fixing cars and they're not sure when stuff gets done/is ready?

Same here. Still Feb 16 to Mar 17 (FA, Mulgrave, ordered Sep)

Not really sure, could just be that they have a thousand cars to get out the door and can only do so many per day.
