Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
And this finally happened yesterday...
I'm very happy with color choice and car.
The staff at Adelaide DC were very friendly.
I picked up early arvo on Friday, and it didn't seem like there were many people picking up cars at that time.
There is a crap load of Model Y's getting ready for...
I have seen a few in the wild now. It seems like blue is a prominent color in the north eastern suburbs of Adelaide (saw 2 seperate ones today). I also saw a red one for the first time yesterday...
Looking forward to adding mine to the roads in 10 days, but not holding my breath. It has been an...
I was chatting with a couple of Tesla owners yesterday about this, and their advice was; when you put your tesla order in, forget that you even ordered and just get excited when it actually arrives. Otherwise, the journey is real painful. I wish I listened to this advice earlier.
However, they...
I just got an email and message to schedule delivery, but they managed to choose two dates where I might be overseas 😥 Organising stuff atm, for potential delivery.
It is frustrating & I'm slightly over this whole thing. I reckon some of the cars have been there for a few weeks in the elements (I recognise a few cars from previous visits).
I'm north east of Adelaide, and have had 4 sightings so far. I ended up flashing my lights (in an ICE car) at one and giving the thumbs up. Driver probably thought I was a weirdo 🤔😅
Adelaidians, I just went past the Holden's carpark and I reckon there's about 150-200 cars there, mostly model3s.
Some seem to have been there longer than others (based on dirtiness).
Hoping I get mine soon...
After getting a slightly earlier delivery window (Mar 1 - Apr 6) and the email today, I thought I'd let my NL company know that things might start happening and to find out realistic timeframes from them. It seems like 7 day turn around is a bit of squeeze for them, and they want to see all...
I called up today to see if i can find out what is happening:
- 15min on hold
- Got connected to someone very nice and friendly, but not in Adelaide.
- The info that she had access to was that it had not arrived to the DC yet.
- They have had logistical challenges with multiple shipments...
It comes down to your luck. The difference between the first and last has been large. E.g. in Adelaide from the FA ship, first deliveries were within 3 weeks of offloading cars in Melbourne (1st feb), while the delivery range extends to 9 weeks post offloading (mine is Mar 4- Apr 6), so 3-9...
I'll see if i can get to Holden's carpark (Adelaide) and see what is happening there. Let's us know if you manage to get down to the DC and chat to any of the staff! :)
I think Tesla should offer stress balls or therapy sessions when you order a car, in anticipation of the emotional roll...
I don't think you need more employees for seasonal changes, there are other options e.g. form relationships with local detailing companies to help out in peak times.
I'm not sure whether I am missing anything here, but it seems like the bottle neck is cleaning the cars and getting them delivered in higher volume? I would've thought that these are easy issues to address. What am I missing?
Had I been told about this earlier, I'd be fine, but atm i feel like I've played around with.
I think I'd be much happier if there was better communication and if deliveries were fulfilled by order date.
Thanks for the update and congrats on the new car!!! 😊
Re texts for delivery soon, I really hope so, this has been a struggle for me mentally! 🤞
On a different note, there seems to be a few M3Hs in stock in Adelaide. Cancelled orders?
I think I'd prefer to know what is happening so i can plan things a bit better. I've just put my car up for sale, but now wondering whether I need to delay that.
I completely understand and have thought about it myself, but convinced myself it is worth the wait and this will be forgotten once i have the car. Plus I have got some M3 accessories and a 7kw Tesla charger installed - so no changing for me now! 😅
I'm sort of similar. I went in thinking I'd get the white interior (based on the old model), but then chose to go black interior when i saw it on the new model.
Nothing here either.
I'll try to get to the Holden car park and check again on things, but don't expect to be able to get out there this week. @dronus the 200+ cars were most likely both Ys and 3s.
What is the bottle neck for the Adelaide DC? Parcel shelf, cleaning/detailing...? Any updated...
Adelaidians, I was waiting at the traffic lights at intersection between cross and portrush roads and saw a truck fully loaded with white and dark M3s heading down the freeway and then (surprisingly) turning left and going down cross road... where would that be heading? Straight to DC?
Sorry...
I agree. I'm still not sure about assigning VINs so early, and then cars arriving/being available out of order sequence. Sounds a bit backwards and frustrating.
