The article mentions 117 "chargers". Not 117 "banks of chargers"...

I hope some of these "chargers" at least on the busier routes are not just single stall chargers again. But even if so, it's a nice start to be filling in the gaps.
Yes - they are 117 sites, with a minimum of 4 plugs at each site (might be 3 CCS / 1 Chademo).

Stan from the Kangaroo Island TV YouTube channel has posted his experience of charging here with his Polestar 2. And the two Teslas which showed up about the same time!

Interesting but this video needed a lot more editing 😄. No need to hear the blow-by-blow on the power ramp up when we can see the numbers on the screen!

To provide 70 kW, you’d need about 175 solar panels operating at full power - hard to tell how many panels on the canopy.
 
I've noticed the sub-entity of NRMA who is building this is known as "NRMA ELECTRIC HIGHWAYS PTY LTD" - which can be handy to know when search for council records.

And a quick search of such shows up two of the existing Federally funded sites, Mudgee and Barossa. As well as three sites I was not aware of,

381 Broadway, Wycheproof, Vic, 3527 (half way between Melbourne and Mildura)

180-186 ALMA STREET Rockhampton (this seems to ve in addition to the two Queensland Government partially funded sites)

Near the corner of High and Church St, Ross, Tasmania

The first two have council lease approval and the one in Ross seems earlier on in the discussion process.

That's a good location. There is already a single 50kW CTR Evie Tritium, but the Melbourne-Mildura route could really use some more redundancy in the middle of the route.

Even better if it's going to be more than 50kW (edit: not disclosed, but the proposal is for 2 EV Chargers servicing 4 parking bays, so sounds more promising than the Evie single stall 50kW). The location's also a bit closer to the excellent bakery and the BP (although the Evie is next to public toilets).

Edit: Just checking ABRP, a RWD Model 3 can do Melbourne CBD - Wycheproof using 80%, then get to Mildura using another 80%, so a really good single stop option for lunch. Would have actually been a great location for a big Supercharger... oh wait...
