83" box in cargo area

I need to pick up a sofa from Ikea - Four boxes, the longest is 83 inches -- do I dare try to transport it home in my Model Y? Any advice appreciated.

You would have to leave the tailgate open. There is only 78" to the back of the front seats. I went outside and measured just to be sure.

Do like they do in the rest of the world. Tow a small trailer for those items that won't fit inside.

How deep is it? If it's not too deep or heavy, you can always turn it on it's side and slide it between the front seats for a few extra inches.

I've done that with things from Ikea before with a problem.

You might also be able to recline the front seat and set the long box on top

Rent a u-haul van and save yourself the aggravation. pretty sure those boxes are pretty heavy too

That is what I do. My round triip is about 20 miles and I end paying under $45

remove it from the box and you should have more flexibility...
