2014 Model S Key Replacement

So my wife has misplaced her key to my Model S… there is a key fob service menu item, however with the various versions of keys and them always being out of stock, is it possible to just use a used key purchased on eBay? Do I have to take it to service and have them reprogram anyway? What I was reading was the Bluetooth keys may be DIY, but the legacy keys may need Toolbox? Is that right?

yes for legacy, only 'full' Toolbox, ie not the one u can subscribe to urself
some ppl had success with technicians programming used ones some didn't ...
