Hi,
I have a 2013 model S 85 with 116,000 km that I just bought and am unsure what to charge it too.. is charging to 100 percent bad? I usually charge it to 80-90 percent.. thanks

I believe keeping them between 20 and 80 is ideal. 100 is doable but generally not recommended.

Like the owners manual tells you, 90% or less for daily use. 100% as needed.

On my 2013 S85 with original battery and 78k miles, charging to >= 80% kicks off battery cooling system that seems to run constantly. My normal SOC is 70% and car sits quietly in garage.

under 90 normally, though, going to 100% if it's not kept sitting at 100% (charge to 100% but use it soon after) is good to also help balance out the battery. Despite popular belief, charging to 100% is not bad. Charging to 100%, then leaving it at 100% for a week+ while you are on vacation is bad. 100% and then using it it is not.

Even that’s basically negligible vs. any other greater than ~70% state of charge unless the ambient temp is fairly hot.

Yep. Even going to 100%, after the charging stops, and voltages settle, it's more around 4.15v-4.18, so still not at "100%".
