Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I requested a software update via the service option in the Tesla service app and within 60 minutes they had responded and sent me one. I installed the update and it totally fixed the issue. One interesting note, I was on 2021.4.12.2 and the update was for the exact same version. I don't know...
Phones I've tried:
1. iPhone X (worked 100%)
2. iPhone Xs Max (worked 50%)
3. iPhone 11 Pro (worked 50%)
I received the new fob and posted some feedback here:
Model 3 Keyfob updated on Tesla shop to include passive entry
I own both versions of the Model 3 fob. Not thrilled to buy it twice...
Just got mine. Seems to work pretty well. Opening the door or trunk isn’t instantaneous. Like maybe 1/2 second client to 1 second lag. Overall I’m pretty happy with it since it seems 100% reliable from my testing. Also walk away to lock works with it.
Side note. I’m sure they changed the...
Mine already shipped and will be delivered tomorrow. I can post some impressions when it arrives.
I also bought the first gen since I thought lack of passive entry was a limitation of the car, not the fob. Well, still happy to be upgrading if it works well. If passive entry ends up being as...
Funny I was going to post about this today. Definitely me not having my butt down far enough in the seat. They should fix this in software. Don’t shut off the screen immediately when the door is closed. Wait 1 second then check seat sensor.
Just curious why everyone saying this is overpriced? It seems similar to the other competing front license plate frames and better designed. I just ordered one.
There were rumors that they were changing out the material in early 2019 (at least from people talking to service centers). I held off until April 2019 to get mine replaced in case it was a better material. So far so good.
It took them 4 days to replace my dashboard. A couple of things:
1. The durability and longevity of the dash were crap (at least from 2018). I've never heard of a car having dashboard issues and their excuse regarding heat is terrible.
2. It's crazy how much effort it is to replace the...
I had my original dashboard replaced due to bubbles and dimpling. The new one has two bumps as well (symmetrically, one on each side of the screen). I assume there are screw holes under there since they are so perfectly symmetric. I'm pretty OCD but this doesn't bother me since it's...
Anyone else notice that 2019.28.2 changed the sound profile of the front motor? It seems to engage the motor more at low speeds (more audible, but fine). Mine now makes a revving sound at 27 mph. At higher speeds (greater than 60 mph) the pulsing sound is considerably less high pitched. I'm...
So on the positive side this got rid of the purple lines in my backup camera that I’ve had since Sept of 2018. The bad news is that it is more out of focus (less sharp) and there is still some weird effects (some headlights look weird, shadows on the ground while driving can get pink flashes)...
With the new backup camera changes, does anyone else notice distortion around car headlights, or dark shadows on the ground flashing slightly pink while driving? Also slightly more blurry now?
This update completely fixed my purple lines and crazy camera distortions I've been complaining about for the past 10 months. It does look a little bit less sharp now. Anyone else notice? Have there been multiple camera revisions? Funny thing is I have a mobile service appointment Monday to...
I had mine in for the drive noise too (chirps/whistles over 60 mph). Technician reproduced it on a test drive (thought it was wind noise). After keeping it for a week they determined it was the front drive unit. They said it isn't a mechanical issue so can't fix it. I complained to service...
Can anyone clarify what the "unique inverter" they are talking about in the article? That doesn't make sense since various people had AWD model 3s flashed to P3D- cars.
I'll be super sad that I didn't wait if you can actually get 18" wheels with the Brembo brake calipers. The 20" wheels is what stopped me from getting the PUP package last year even though I wanted the brake calipers.
I took mine in and they confirmed the sound during a test drive. After keeping it a week they confirmed the sound is coming from the front drive unit. They won't replace it though since they claim it's not a "mechanical" issue and their diagnostic tests passed on the unit. Suck.
