That makes sense, thanks for the insight! Do you know if updates downloading are disabled until the 12V error goes away? i.e you won't get OTA until the 12V is "replaced"
Interesting. I had a 12V "failure" because of how cold the NE got last winter and the car is always parked outside. I got the 12V error because I guess it dipped below the threshold for the alert and it wouldn't go away. I had a firmware update the day of the installation and it removed the 12V...
You'll have to redeploy the firmware to get rid of the 12V replacement message though.
@wk057 might be able to give you a compatible (maybe better) battery part number.
To me Musk saying FSD Feature Complete means everything required has been made, but needs a poopton of edge/corners to be solved in their vision system. Which is why I think FSD feature complete isn't too exciting.
Once the voltage drops below the threshold, the error won't go away until you do a firmware reinstall or update. If the error comes back after, then you have a faulty 12V.
I enjoy people using Tesla's opinion on how to solve L4+ autonomy as fact. Nobody, including Tesla, has a guaranteed solution. Everyone is taking what they think is their best chance at solving the problem.
Didn't Bannon say they made a custom compiler for the NN so it'll build for HW2/2.5 vs. HW3? I would assume that means most people, if any, would see the new NN in their car's firmware.
I don't doubt that if something went really bad that it would repeated everywhere, but do you think if Tesla didn't put a misleading FSD demo video out in 2016 that this in-person demo would get significantly more traction/press coverage?
