I wonder if this 373 mile long range tesla actually has a larger battery and range or if it’s just that they use a different rating. WLTP vs EPA vs NEDC etc.
We’ll probably find out the average run rate of the cybertruck for the first quarter today. It would be nice to find out what the present run rate is just to see how things are improving.
Yah. Because what we are getting in Canada is absolutely no where near to any kind of autonomy. There will need to be a bunch more 11 to 12 type jumps in progress before it is anywhere close.
I don’t know about on the fly as I tend to leave the screen alone while driving. But when stopped I just go into the menu and select autopilot/TACC instead of FSD. It’s pretty quick.
That’s kind of how it is for the most part. We can’t use FSD on the highway anymore because of the left lane thing but once they get that sorted that’s actually pretty much how it goes. I’m sure someday it will even back into a free charger stall. 😂
They would be illegal in BC Canada. No L3 vehicles allowed.

Yah. We did the same. 12.3.4 was better than the last version of 11. But its errors are more “fatal” I guess we’ll say. Way too much drama. We have disabled it as well. Too much drama. 12.3.3 was amazing.
I don’t know. We take a new road everyday that was built 7 years ago. It still shows me driving thru a swamp every day 7 years later. It cuts a kilometer and. Half of our trip home if we take it. Navigation still doesn’t know it’s there…after 7 years. 😱
I think for sure it affects the factory in Mexico decision. The more than likely president in 2025 has already indicated he will put a 100 percent tariff on Mexican vehicle imports. That would screw up plans for a model 2 type vehicle out of Mexico. It will also devastate ford EV (and other)...
Oh for sure 12.3.4 is a regression. I wouldn't call it a huge regression but it’s definitely a step back or two. One needs to be more on the ball with 12.3.4 or it will kill you dead.
We were really happy with the merging from an on ramp into a highway with 12.3.3. Smooth, signaled, proper...
To me it seems Mexico is still an untapped market. What lacks in Mexico is the tesla supercharger network as an extension of the rest of the North American network. Populating key corridors in Mexico that interconnect to US corridors would possibly drive some sales in Mexico.
Jmho.
Wow. That’s completely different than our experience. 12.3.3 was competent and reliable. 12.3.4 is not a huge regression but definitely a step back. Lane selection is worse, it’s lost its ability to merge again and it will make last minute route changes including proceeding thru intersections in...
Maybe. But the car culture is still strong in North America and to some degree in Europe. It could be a decade or more before RT significantly affects personal vehicle sales. Will tesla stay with the same five models until then? You would think there would be at least rumours of other product...
Not based on what 12.3.4 is doing. Yes there have been some improvements but not remotely close to being autonomous. Who would pay all the traffic tickets for all the laws it breaks. 😂. (Actually, that’s a good question. Who will pay the fines? )
So, an RT vehicle is still a vehicle…but without a steering wheel. Would there not be a market for an RT vehicle but with a steering wheel? Inexpensive, simple.
Assuming RT vehicles are destined to replace cabs in North America, I’m curious how many there is. How big of a market is there?
Yah. Assuming that doesn’t get walked back though. I think in some countries that could/will happen. The US and Canada for sure. A hard right shift is coming for both in the next year or two.
Agree with much of this. I also tend to think seeing Tesla ever produce more than a few million vehicles per year is no longer a thing. Elons not dumb. Maybe pivoting away from automotive and more to storage, solar and software is a more profitable direction. But a part of me wanted to see tesla...
I would think so. I can’t see anyone buying it if it’s only 99 bucks a month. At least not in its present form which is absolutely no where near a robotaxi level. It would generate thousands of dollars of fines in a single day of work as a taxi. 😂
12.3.4 is a regression for us. Just did a short 3 kilometre trip thru town.
1. Tried to make an illegal left turn from the right lane.
2. Put on left signal to turn left at an intersection following the nav and then at last minute moved to the right lane and went straight thru signal was...
I took a look at Chile on the tesla map. Looks like they have a service and delivery centre in Santiago and not a single supercharger. It will be interesting to see the tesla supercharger buildout.
Well, the reason that it is being discussed is because everyone and their dog is publishing that it’s being cancelled. It will be interesting to see how tesla plays these cards. They can’t really say either way but also need to be positive enough to instill some confidence.
Neighbour from...
I wonder if it would be useful for driverless cars to have some kind of light or visual signal that indicates the car is driverless. Might help in some instances.
Informative post. I would be interested to hear more on how the construction zone flag person hand signal situation will be handled. School crossings guards etc.
This morning a nice polite gentleman across the street coming out of the Tim Hortons was adamant that I cross and turn first even...
