Interesting. The 7 in Tassie line up perfectly with the 7 which have been spotted in the thread in this forum.

However.. I was talking to John Casimaty (owner of Tesla Limousines and Tours - the TLT000 plated Model S) - who said that when he registered his (a month or two ago) there were 15 registered in Tassie, with five more on the way!

In July at the AEVA Tas meeting we were told there were 5 in Tasmania, and given 4 of the spotted ones have been registered after July, I certainly don't doubt that there are inaccuracies (or that the 7 in the article is an old number).

Yes, that's why he says "there’s 536 Tesla Model S vehicles out on the roads – at least."

The 536 number would be a verified minimum. Excellent examples like yours indicate that it is impossible to find all of them.

Probably more like 600 on the roads actually.

Warning, complete speculation ahead:

The article quotes 261 Tesla's in NSW when we know that there were 210 registered as at September 30 according to RMS. Perhaps they have a deep source in RMS and can get updated figures more frequently but they're not saying.
Based on the articles figures, NSW has 261/536 or 48.7% of registered Tesla's in Australia.
So if sales continue at 60 per quarter in NSW and the same rate everywhere else that makes NSW registrations 270 on Dec 31 * (100/48.7) = 554 Teslas Australia wide by years end.

As you said, the RMS figure is end of September. The number quoted in the article is 261 as at the day of the article.

So, your calculation implies deliveries of just 9 units in NSW over the next 6 weeks.
