I'd LOVE to drive in this, but don't think I'll have time to drive from PA to CA.

What's the cost to just watch? I assume this is all open to the public for spectators?

In the past it has been $10 per vehicle to get into the track as a spectator. The event is not a "major" event so generally spectator crowds are very small. You can wander around the "paddock" and see the vehicles charging and staging. You could also probably go up in the TV tower near the start/finish line since there is generally no major media coverage of the event.

What a shame.... hopefully it grows with time. I know if I had more time available, I'd drive out and back... I'm sure my tires need replaced anyway

You can. I spent a good chunk of time up in the tower taking pictures of other member's vehicle's during the TT last year. Good view from up there.

I expect even smaller crowds this year -- weekday.
