I heard a strong hint that this Supercharger would be associated with some "Wild Horses" southeast of Pendleton; 2[SUP]3[/SUP]3[SUP]3[/SUP] was another hint.

OK, Wild Horse Resort and Casino is to the east of Pendleton, on a road (S Market) off an exit of I-84.
8/27 would be a bit of a wait. Didn't find an 827 on that road.
Its seems odd to me that a Casino would be willing to install SCs. You'd think they'd prefer HPWCs, i.e. something to make people stay longer. If it's actually at the Wildhorse Casino, I could see them being pretty interested in offering to host it. It seems like a good place they would like to invite people to hang out and spend some money for 40 minutes or so.

Was this a dig at Pendleton, Rocky? We have rather enjoyed that small downtown when our route has taken us through there - some decent cafes with food that's a far sight better than at fast-food locales. I'm not sure it's the best place to purchase Pendleton Woolen Mills items - I have a vague recollection there's an outlet on the Washington state side of the river, but that particular quest is any number of decades ago now....But the point is that it is Pendleton. People don't just stop in Pendleton if they don't have to. They are trying to go from Supercharger to Supercharger, and they will avoid stopping at places where they would have to wait for 3 or 4 hours in favor of stopping at places where they can wait for only 30-40 minutes. If it is a smaller route where Tesla is not planning to build Superchargers, then the choices would be HPWC or nothing, that would actually attract some business, and it would be a benefit to install those.
That's great news. I too want SCs for my route Seattle to Boise. However, I would not bet on the range from that new SC at Pendleton getting me to Boise.
Using the EV Trip Planner, it says 376 average using 82kWh, or 274 rated miles. The planner says I could make it by driving slow. That would drop the average to 345 using 75.3kWh, or 251 rated miles. But that 14,468 elevation gain will drain the battery more than estimated and the 12,140 going down will recharge the battery less than estimated.
I still see a stop in Baker. There is a Tesla user that offers his HPWC. It wouldn't need to be a long stop.

I guess I'm a bit surprised, however, that the new Supercharger location isn't closer to the I-82/I-84 link in Hermiston.
I've looked on Plugshare for the HPWC in Baker City but can't find it. Is an HPWC still available?
Also - supercharge.info now shows Pendleton having received a permit.
Thanks
