That concrete pad to the right of the wood, equipment enclosure looks like a transformer pad. The site will not be operational until the transformer is on site.
For the parts and names of a typical Supercharger Site, see Supercharger - Newburgh, NY - Page 5. The picture there shows a typical transformer, in most places in the U.S. except Arizona, they are a dark, forest-green color. These are sometimes confused with the dark grey Distribution Center, that in most are tall, dark grey cabinets, with "Square-D" labels.
Very few Supercharger Sites get grand openings these days.
I stopped at the Wildhorse Casino before lunch Friday to see workers preparing parking lot strips for 8 new shiny superchargers. The crew said they were done and leaving for home. There is a vault where the transformer will be placed, otherwise the site looks really good. There are a coupe of pictures from Sunday Afternoon when the weather was better.
Two different unrelated sources expect the site to go live by the end of this week in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
I am pretty sure this is the last trip to Boise in my ICE, making me a very happy camper.
Oh wow! Two years ago my wife and I drove our Model S on a trip around the country! One of our stops was at Wildhorse Casino. In fact we camped overnight in their nice grassy camping area! They were really nice to us there. It's amazing to see that they have a supercharger there.
Just checked on the NAV in my S85. If I choose Wildhorse as a destination, it show it active. If I NAV thru Pendleton it say I do not have enough charge to The Dallas. Does not use Pendleton as a charge point. Odd.
