What specs are you planning?

I think you will get more accurate pricing by starting from the US price... here's a screenshot of your build:



A couple things to note:

1. The base price of the car is 81,070 USD = 630,000 HKD

2. Twin chargers cost $1500 USD, but they come bundled with the proprietary HPWC unit, for a package cost of $2700. Assume you just need to add $1500 if you don't need the HPWC unit.

3. The Security system is not offered in the US. It may not be offered in HK. If it is, I guess it would cost about 3600 HKD like you said.

So, ignoring the Security system and adding twin chargers, and removing the $7500 US Federal tax credit, the cost of your build is 96,570 USD, or 750,000 HKD

That's the easy part. From there, you will have to add on any shipping fees, customs tax, luxury tax, FRT, and any VAT in HK. The shipping cost of the Model S to China is 3,600 USD, and I assume something very similar would apply for HK. I'm not sure what the other taxes would be for HK.

It sounds like there is no import tax or sales tax in HK? If so I would expect your price to just be the US price + shipping (about $3600 USD)

I don't really need it - now - but some times you might need to haul more than 5. Also, about the resale value of the car, I would imagine 7 seats is easier to sell than 5.

I think so, but how sure are we that Hong Kong Model S isn't getting the reverse seats?

Actually, even on the HK Tesla Motors site, you can see the specs:

And it clearly says "5 + 2" about a third from the bottom.

I'd appreciate it if Model S reservation holders in Hong Kong could tick the box most appreciate (whether you want the rear facing child seats or not).

Does anyone know the $5,800 Subzero Weather Package is for if you want to add heating to the rear 3 seats (as well as the front 2 seats), or does the Model S originally come with heating seats for the front row without adding the package? Not that I'll add it to my config, but it is rather cold in HK these days... haha

Yes, heated front seats are standard, no additional cost.

I'm considering if Dual Chargers ($11,600) and HPWC ($9,300) are worth getting at all...

Considering it is unlikely that I'll be driving over 100km (probably no more than 50km in fact) every day, using 220V 13A or 32A outlets which seems to be the norm across HK (i.e. most CLP/HK Electric charging stations, residential or other public outlets), the most I'll get from these is around 7kW, which is still less than the 10kW capability of the standard Single Charger. 7kW means around 41km/h charging rate, so it shouldn't take more than 2 to 3 hours to fill up the Model S if I charge it every night without the Dual Charger/HPWC combo option.

I realise some charging stations out there do use CHAdeMO which gives out 50kW, but from what I understood they all use DC, just like Tesla's Superchargers, which would bypass the onboard charger anyway. Plus, Tesla will be building Supercharger Network in HK (fantastic!).
