Many possibilities
They could have had a radar person that left. They could be growing the number of systems using radar. They could need more bespoke algorithms than the silicon vendors provide.
I was interpreting the mule's camera placements to mean that the robotaxi would be more compact, and therefore what is presently the B-pillar camera would be positioned closer to the rear camera.
Did some quick CAD math and given the perspective of the shot, that would make the robotaxi about 20 inches shorter than the Model 3, or 165 inches in total length:
