Just purchased M3RWD two days ago for my wife to use as her daily driver. I don’t want to shred her tires, but I can tell you, especially with free supercharging for the first 6 months, I’d really like to hammer it and have some fun with some spirited driving. I read that rear tires (even on AWD models) shred faster. I understand flats happen, and while I can install a tire plug, if we destroy a tire, I’m stuck and will probably be paying $200+ for a tire and maybe even a tow. I’d prefer to have a spare tire at the house to be able to come rescue my wife. Two would be ideal so I can shred some cheap tires. It looks to me like I can get setup with two decent wheels and tires for about $360, but still need to add TPMS.
Anyone know if this stuff is a bad idea?
I can start to see how $1900 for a full set of winter wheels from Tesla isn’t that bad of an option ($850 for a pair).
