Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Mod: I just deleted 12 posts and temp banned one member. Some of the posts, and the ban, were for ignoring clear moderator instructions to cease a particular acrimonious discussion. (Explicitly not for allegedly trolling.) Other posts were members just being snarky at each other. I probably...

Gee, thanks. Has it occurred to you that maybe you didn't see what the moderators did? Or undid, as the case may be?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Firing then rehiring probably has side effects, such as cancelling outstanding incentives like options, RSUs, ESPP plans, whatever. If this was part of the calculation, it's pretty evil.

    Near-future quarterly financial projections

Wow... you obviously didn't learn on a car that didn't have power steering. It's really hard to turn the wheel when stationary, much easier if it is moving even slightly. This used to be part of driver training. I guess I'm showing my age, was driving 5 ton trucks before I was old enough to have...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Mod: I'm declaring the cost of hotels in various countries to be off-topic. Also discussion of historical wars/bombings unless shown to be relevant. And I'm getting very close to declaring one member a troll for continuing to introduce off-topic discussions. --ggr

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Mod: It was only a week or two ago that head mod @AudubonB issued an instruction not to clog the thread with discussion about trolls, ignoring, disagreeing, and proposals for changing software (which I remind you all that mods have no say in). I had to take action today against particularly...

It seems to me that this is very close to "soliciting a bribe".

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'm not sure there is such a thread. I do have one piece of advice though. If you ask the "from" broker (TDA) to transfer your assets to the "to" broker (Schwab in your example) they will almost certainly want to charge you money and delay. So go to the "to" broker, open your account, and ask...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Insiders buying stock on the open market is just as dangerous as selling, if the price suddenly goes up on good news. Theoretically they could file a 10b5 trading plan to buy, but most of them only have cash after selling, which makes no sense.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The software doesn't allow it. Note that the moderators have no control at all over the software. Note also that the mod (singular) already weighed in and has been roundly ignored. I could start issuing bans, or I can go away and do my day job for a week or two. I think I'll do the latter. I...

Mod: I just deleted 18 posts for continuing the banned discussion of Elon and his politics. It's not about whether I/we as moderators have an opinion one way or the other. Nothing is worth the effort of reporting to the SEC. I sent a bunch of reports back in the mid-late 2010s, and except for the form letter "we added you to the queue", have never had any response or apparent effect.

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

As you can see in the graph above, Q3 2012 was indeed a negative Gross Margin. While Tesla managed to deliver the first ten Model S in Q2, there were a lot of S's that were undergoing significant re-work before they could be delivered even in Q3. I can't remember if they had already stopped...

Tesla Employee was the biggest jerk!!!!

The pre-purchase agreement specifically states that any co-signer must be present at delivery. It would be really easy for me to add Amber Muchnick as a co-signer and just scribble something if they weren't present. You probably wouldn't like that.

Why do you like your Tesla?

Try telling that to Jan Łukasiewicz. Admittedly he invented what we would now call Prefix Polish Notation, and HP "reversed it" to RPN. (Pronounced roughly as "wook-a-SHEY-vitch", which I guess is why most people call it "Polish". :-) )

As usual, there are competing forces at play here. First, forget that it is Elon, or any other huge shareholder, and just look at the effect on the company of Joe Random exercising options. A small amount of cash goes to the company to pay for the shares at the strike price. At the same time an...
