Not keeping a second driver profile

There’s a seat recalibration you can perform if the seats aren’t adjusting correctly, under Controls > Services I believe. Try that in the car with the incorrect seating position before recreating your profile. Note that during the calibration process the seat will fully recline, so it’s best...

    What's next?

A lot of people, including me (two cars), are on 2024.3.25. It includes the latest version of FSD, so don’t worry about it. When Tesla decides it’s your turn, you’ll probably get the latest 2024.14.x version, which has the same version of FSD you have now.

FSD hardware upgrade front camera quality

If you paid Tesla Service to upgrade your cameras, and they agree that the image looks wrong, they can’t charge you to fix their mistake. Push back on the $200 charge.

Not keeping a second driver profile

In the car, on the Driver Profile Settings screen, use the Reset Tesla Profile button. In the mobile app, go to the settings menu, select your profile, select Driver Profile, and select Reset Tesla Profile.

Still no Bumper Cam or Ambient Lighting.

That’s interesting, because I remember seeing a disclaimer like that on the website, but I don’t see it now. However, when I ordered both a Model S and Model Y last year, part of the ordering process in the app was having to confirm a disclaimer about the lack of certain features, including...

    Can someone explain software

Let me clarify about the exceptions: the car and the mobile app are updated independently, but occasionally there are new mobile app features that require a particular software version in the car. It’s not any more complicated than that.

Scope of HW2.5 to HW3 Upgrade for M3 LR (Feb 2019 Build)

In 2019, Tesla upgraded the AP computer on our US 2018 Model 3 to HW3 after we bought FSD. They didn’t upgrade anything else. I don’t know that HW3 gets you any additional fnon-AP eatures you don’t already have.

Gave up on Autopilot, is Cruise Control next?

There’s no rain sensor in a Model 3, it uses the front camera.

    Please explain software branches

I don't think anyone outside of Tesla can answer your questions accurately, even if they think otherwise. Someone could map out which versions contain certain features (including FSD versions), but the actual underlying branch strategy would only be known to Tesla development. It seems that...

Gave up on Autopilot, is Cruise Control next?

The fact that TACC turned off and the wipers are misbehaving more than usual might indicate an issue with your front camera. Make sure to clean that area of the windshield, and if the problem persists, schedule a service appointment.

    Can someone explain software

2025.3.25 includes FSD v12.3.6, so you have the latest FSD. The 11.1 you see in the version number is the software UI version, which has been at 11.1 for a while. The UI version is actually changing to 12.0 soon, to make matters more confusing, but you're all set with the FSD version. By the...

    FSDs is dangerous

Sorry, I misread your post. Even without considering AP, driving an ICE car on the rare occasions I need to rent one is always a bit jarring, especially when you forget to turn the car off. 🙂

Is there any way to turn on 'Minimal Lane Changes for the Current Drive' without going into the settings (Model S/X)?

No, that doesn’t work in the new S/X. Moving the scroll wheel left/right does nothing in any situation. Not sure why Tesla did that, and hopefully they’ll change it later. Thanks for confirming. I’ll have my car serviced if I can’t get it to work that way.

You can delete (reset) your cloud profile without doing any of that. Totally unnecessary.

Autopark was available in one of the 2024.3.x builds, if not sooner. Both our cars are on 2024.3.x and both have Autopark. 2024.14.x on Intel MCU model 3

What is your reasoning for that? This wouldn’t be the first feature that Tesla hasn’t made available to all cars. The UWB feature is also used by the phone key on cars that have UWB support, but not all do. My wife’s 2023 Model Y does not, and neither did her 2018 Model 3.

Is there any way to turn on 'Minimal Lane Changes for the Current Drive' without going into the settings (Model S/X)?

Moving the right scroll wheel left/right in the new Model S/X doesn’t do anything currently, according to the manual. Worse, when I tried to do that for the same reason you did, it was the same as pressing the scroll wheel and it disengaged FSD. So yes, you have to use the touchscreen, which is...

    FSDs is dangerous

Don’t ruin it for the rest of us. What version of FSD was in your rental car? I know it’s happened to others, but I’ve never once had FSD run a red light.
  26. EVRider-FL

Not keeping a second driver profile

What exactly do you mean when you say you have to reset your wife’s profile? Do you mean the profile is still there but not associated with her phone key? If so, you’re not the only one seeing this, though in my case it doesn’t happen every time: Driver profiles -- still crazy after all these...

    Text message reading volume

Are you using the Tesla integration for reading text messages, or something on your phone that you’re streaming via Bluetooth? The left scroll wheel should adjust the volume of whatever you’re listening to, but I don’t think I’ve ever needed to adjust the volume of a text message so I haven’t tried.

    HW2.5 to HW3 Upgrade | Crashing Woes

You shouldn't be seeing any of those issues after a HW3 upgrade. Let Tesla Service deal with them. I would be surprised if there was anything wrong with the cabin camera -- that wouldn't explain some of the other errors.

    I am thrilled with FSD

2024.14.x on Intel MCU model 3

    Back up sensors not working

I had my front license plate removed. I had the tape as well as bracket holding on the plate with 2 screws from under the bumper.

If you paid someone to remove your front plate holder maybe you can get them to fix your bumper. Plenty of us have removed front license plate holders with no damage to the bumper.

    Going from 2024.3.25 to 2024.14.x

TeslaFi now shows that 2024.14.6 has FSD v12.3.6, same as what you have now, so your FSD version isn't preventing you from getting the newer build. Our two Teslas are still on 2024.3.20 and 3.25. According to TeslaFi, almost everyone who received 2024.14.6 was on 2024.8.9 (FSD v11.4.9)...

Should i receive phone notifications from sentry?

Yes, you should get notifications, but only for Sentry Mode alarm events, the ones that actually trigger the Sentry alarm. Sentry Mode alert events, which happen when people/cars pass by your car, don't notify you in the app.

Are you saying that the chimes are gone but the visuals are still there, or are both missing? The chimes can be turned on and off, so maybe an update changed that setting even if you didn't. Using Joe Mode might also turn those off, but I don't know.

    HW 2.5 + Intel vs HW 3.0 + Intel

If you have to pay for the upgrade, I don't think you'll get any real benefit. Without FSD, HW3 gives you slightly better driver visualizations, but that's about all. Both of our previous HW2.5 2018 Teslas (S and 3) were upgraded to HW3 in 2019 because we bought FSD, but I didn't notice any...

    Turning signal button "stuck"

I don't doubt that, but least in my case replacing the yoke helped. On a couple of occasions since then, the switch didn't work, but as you said, it was probably being "ignored" rather than not functioning. With my original yoke, the switch seemed to fail more often when using AP than when...

    HW 2.5 + Intel vs HW 3.0 + Intel

First off, which car and configuration do you have now? When you say "auto lane change indicator cancellation," do you mean if you're driving manually and use the turn signal, the signal turns off automatically after changing lanes? If so, HW3 won't make a difference. If not, what did you mean...

How to remove auto steer beta?

If your car has the hardware to run the FSD trial, you probably had basic Autopilot, which includes both Autosteer and TACC, even before the update.
  44. EVRider-FL

Does FSD apply brake when stopped?

I think the Hold indicator is only shown when you’re driving manually. When using FSD, the car will stay put when stopped even on hills.

FSD - update required to end free trial?

No, FSD will disappear soon even if you do nothing.

How will s and x models that have no cabin camera handle 12.4 getting rid of steering wheel nag?

Given the NHTSA’s concern about making sure drivers are engaged when using AP, I don’t see any possibility of reducing the hands-on-wheel nag if there’s no other way to monitor driver engagement.

Why no FSD (supervised) for those cars stuck on software branch 2024.8.9?

That’s good news for everyone on 2024.8.x. It wasn’t clear which version of FSD was in the 2024.14.x builds, but TeslaFi is now showing that 2024.14.5 has FSD v12.3.6, so that’s an upgrade path for anyone on 2024.8.x.
