Any Model S Refresh/Plaid owners with the 21” Arachnid wheels regret not going with the 19” Tempests?

I have the 19"s and I am good with them. Like folks said earlier: with the price difference, you are better off ordering with 19"s and then upgrading to 21"s if you feel the need. The extra efficiency and cheaper tire replacements are worth it with the 19's and if you really want, get the 20"s...

Has anyone fit OEM rear 19" / 21" wheels on the FRONT of their MS Refresh LR Plaid

Ahh ok. I totally get the appearance thing. The 21's do look sweet. As for even wear: I have found my tires are wearing evenly and I do check the tread every few months. For reference I drive 90% on the highway though, and more city driving may result in uneven wear.

To Complete Steering Wheels, and Lateral Gs!

I like my Yoke! To each their own, gimmick or not, it is fun, and adds to the driving experience. Seems like a fair comparison, and I 100% agree. If they were in the same price category? If the Lucid had access (soon it may!) to the Tesla charging network... I would have to think about the...

Anyone bought the track package for a daily driver?

The 19"s are not compatible. So if you upgrade to the Track-Pack your 19" rims/tires will no longer fit (according to the Tesla site): https://shop.tesla.com/product/model-s-plaid-track-package

Has anyone fit OEM rear 19" / 21" wheels on the FRONT of their MS Refresh LR Plaid

Just curious, what is the purpose of this? Is it an appearance thing? Handling? Why would we want the wider wheels on the front of the car?
  6. K.I.T.T.23

    Plaid 19 vs 21

Totally agree. I believe (someone correct me if I am wrong) but the slightly smaller 19" tires gives you a nearly unnoticeable edge 0-60 compared to 21"s. The 21's give you a higher end speed as fewer rotations per distance traveled are needed. I have the 19"s and have had no issues. I put...

    Sleeping with the Enemy!!

Welcome to the Tesla club :) I was a long time ICE enthusiast as well! I have had a 69 convertible, 79 Bandit, 87 GTA and 93 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 (the 69 was a tribute, I named him "9 of 8"). Pontiac was my brand of choice back in the day. I can definitely appreciate your love for some good...

Twitter app coming to your car

lol not dragging you in! you corrected me before, and @DanCar we called it Twitter, you jumped in with the obligatory correction. I am sure my post will be taken as some kind-a personal attack.. rude or something... That is not my intent. I am just trying to spread some logic.

Twitter app coming to your car

so you like censorship, interesting. here is some ideas for you to mull over if you are inclined to do so: I like what @DanCar said, he just mutes who who he doesn't want to listen to. Bravo Dan, you won the internet, seriously. Rather than insisting that your version of hate speech is not...

Help me choose: M3P inventory vs. Highland?

We went with a Highland, if all goes well we take delivery this Friday! We traded in a 2021 MYLR (well, sold it to a dealer) after the test drive of the Highland. The ride is great, the improvements are HUGE and compared to a 2021, the Highland build quality looks a lot better. If I had a...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

Good morning Highland Waiting room! Had some updates, and I want to share and get opinions. For background: we ordered February 4th I think, had an EDD of March-April, was pushed to April-May, then jumped back to 19 March - 10 April about 2 weeks ago. Two days ago we got an update that our...

My Taycan vs. My Model S

Great review, I really appreciate the descriptive analysis. The Taycan looks sweet... the first non-Tesla EV I have really liked the look of! Good to know I wouldn't be let down.

Demon 170 taken down by Plaid....

Not quite sure your point here. In order to be a "skilled driver/operator", do you think we need to tune the ports? Do you want to do things like swap jets and balance your carb? Do you think it must be done with a stick shift? Prefer hand cranked starters? What about balancing the fuel...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

as some of our EDDs close in... those that are financing, who are you going through? What kind of rates are you seeing? Looks like best rates are 4.5%-ish to 6.5%. Does that sound right?

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

Never detail before a trade in. Makes identifying flaws easier on the dealer. Have a nice coat of dust/dirt on the paint, have the interior clean, but not cleaned as to hide any minor stains. my 2-cents. Personally, if I was selling to a private party, different rules, but the dealers can...

24 Model 3 SR "Highland" review from an enthusiast's POV

Yes, the LR does have LFP, which is why they get no incentive. Also for now, the LFP is made in China so yeah, that is why there is no incentive. personally, With all the testing and results of LFP batteries so far, I an fine spending the extra $$ on it. When they are made state-side that...

24 Model 3 SR "Highland" review from an enthusiast's POV

Great review @Proflig8tor. I also had a 2019 M3 SR, it had an odd battery pack if I recall, and yeah, the range was rough. By the time I sold it, daily I would see ~180 miles, and that was a stretch. If I charged to 100% I wouldn't get over 200 typically. I do live at elevation though, and...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

Tesla is really good about price changes after order. You are locked in. I experienced this with my Model S Plaid, the price dropped and they adjusted my order before I realized. I also saw a price increase with our previous Model Y, and we were locked in at the lower price. We ordered out...

  37. K.I.T.T.23

Help me choose: M3P inventory vs. Highland?

Yeah! did you pull the trigger? If not, here is my 2-cents: I would go with the Highland, for a couple reasons: #1 Battery pack. The new battery lasts longer and you can charge to 100% daily without causing damage. You actually SHOULD charge it to 100% at least once a week. That is a huge...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

I don't have the option to roll on my MSP right now, and we didn't have it on our MYLR that we just sold. I would assume that it won't be available on the M3 Highland either. That said, you don't want it. adapting to one pedal driving is easier than it sounds. Before you know it, the idea of...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

Hello waiting room! The wife test drove the Highland, her MYLR heat pump just went to poop... just out of warranty, so we figured why not: got a decent deal from a local dealer ($28.5k) I think, so we sold the MYLR and put in an order for a M3LR Highland... and we got it in 2 hours before the...

I got my new Autopilot defeat device

Only the oldest and most sensitive IR cameras need some form of cooling. A modern camera that operates in the NIR range of the IR region of the EM spectrum (in most cases) does not require cooling. The details are not as precise, but more than sufficient for monitoring eye/head movement in...

The comments along the lines of " I have an auto defeat device! I drive manually! haha!!" ... wow lol. Dad Joke level-up. For those wondering about sun glasses and how an IR camera works for surface temps and such. Without going into too much technical detail, the IR camera may see through...

I got my new Autopilot defeat device

Interesting! So, I had no idea that there was an IR camera. I did some digging and came up with an analysis, I would be curious if you or anyone else can confirm this. You sparked my curiosity, so I started researching a bit, and I noticed some articles referring to IR LEDs that are used to...

    Cost evolution of MS/X yoke

the adaptive steering is the way of the future, 100% I can't WAIT for it. spinning a wheel around is... well, so 1900-ish. Cost evolution of MS/X yoke

Sorry, maybe my question wasn't clear. I am not looking for the general answer... we all know what the internet says. Many yoke users, like myself, enjoy them. Others users don't like them, typically because of varying reasons, such as living in a city, nervous about making a 3-point turn at...

Bragging rights? eh, kinda? sheer power... absolutely IMHO. If you value acceleration, get the Plaid. Reading your responses a bit, I think you are of the mindset. The Plaid will not disappoint. I have never had anyone say "wow, a Model S!" but when we are talking cars, and I mention Plaid...

    Cost evolution of MS/X yoke

why? Honest question, if you have driven on it for a while, I assume you bought before there was a wheel option. After all this time, why do you want to swap now? What is causing you issues?
