How can we get a Supercharger in Palatka, FL (Putnam County)?

They're building the Wawa now. So far... no sign of Tesla superchargers. I pray they put some there. My Model S 60 has a degrading battery pack and now my range is less than 150 miles per full charge. The range anxiety visiting my mother-in-law is getting serious at this point.

App can’t wake car from sleep

Hmmm, does your app access other features of the car? Also, some Tesla apps have a setting that prevents them pinging the car while it's sleeping. Are you using the Tesla App itself and/or have you tried another access app like Teslascope, Tessie, TezLab, or Teslafi?

Nav and IC dead after car sits overnight, sometimes (early 2016 with atom MCU)

As in "upgraded", did you have the entire MCU replaced with MCU2? or, did you have the eMMC chip replaced (like most of us did back in 2021, from 8 GB to 64 GB)? If your IC and MCU2 are having issues, you should let your Tesla Service Center know. When I had my MCU1 (2014 Model S 60) replaced...

Jacksonville, FL: Tesla to build at Atlantic North in East Arlington

Wow! This looks nice! :) I have to have my HV battery pack replaced, so I'll get to visit this location.

    Dual blank/black screens

Hmmm... odd, it sounds like an MCU issue, but you upgraded to MCU2. I was seeing errors like this all the time as my MCU1 aged. I got the free eMMC chip upgrade (8 GB to 64 GB), but about a year or so later, I started seeing issues again. So, I upgraded my MCU1 to MCU2 back in April 2023 and I...

Does upgrading from MCU1 to MCU2 require additional programming?

Greetings, fellow Teslan! There's quite a bit of file/data transfer from your original MCU1 to the new MCU2 and there are MCU2 firmware updates they do too. They also have to change the connectors for the wires. It took the technician about 3 hours to do my upgrade, so I got to watch them do...

    Homelink disappearing / GPS freezing

Congratulations on the new car! What year is the car? If it's after 2017, you have MCU2. Mine is a 2014 Model S, so I had to upgrade from MCU1 to MCU2. Once I did, a lot of the bugs and quirkiness I experienced went away. It's weird though that the entire icon is disappearing. I've seen it...

    Homelink disappearing / GPS freezing

Yes, very odd. What software update do you have and do you have MCU1 or MCU2?

    2018 Model S - App features

Yes, the current Tesla App will work for all versions of Model S. Your car will automatically adapt to the current app. I have a 2014 Model S with no autopilot, so "Summon" is not an option on my app.

    Edit Navigation Favorites

Yes, I did update one of my favorites names once. From what I remember, I selected it, un-favorited it, and then re-favorited with the new name.

    Model S 85 2015 – FREE SUPERCHARGING - $34,950 - PRICED TO SELL

Congratulations! I noticed you had bucket seats and a 'cup holder / center armrest' for the backseat! I didn't know that was ever an option! Did you have that custom installed or was that a special option 'back in the day'? - James

Is it possible to find a preowned Model S with lifetime free connectivity?

I bought my 2014 Model S 60 pre-owned in May 2021 and it has "Free Premium Connectivity". I had to eventually upgrade my MCU to MCU2 to use it once 3G LTE went away, but if you do find a pre-owned Model S with it, it's great to have. Just keep in mind you may have to upgrade your MCU ($1,800...

Hmmm... it looks almost like a gradient transition. Have you tried using light mode, vs dark mode to see if there is a difference?

    SXM Radio Channel Problem

I agree. SiriusXM hasn't worked since I upgraded to MCU2 back in April 2023 (2014 Model S 60). I've been using TuneIn and so far I like it, but I miss channels like "Escape". If I have any luck resurrecting my SiriusXM app in my car, I'll post my solution here.

Trip Planner not showing charging stops

I just thought of a possible thing that could be filtering out super chargers. When you click on the "lightning bolt" icon in your MCUs navigation menu, by selecting 1 bolt, 2 bolts or 3 bolts, I noticed we can filter out the slower chargers (150 kw) and only show fast chargers (250 kw). Do...

Trip Planner not showing charging stops

Interesting. Are you using the Tesla app, or your car's navigation to create the destination?

Trip Planner not showing charging stops

Hmmm... what software update are you currently running. I just received a Navigation software update a few minutes ago (2023.20.9). It says that it fixed minor bugs. I haven't seen the bug to which you're referring, but I have an older Model S (2014, 60 kwh battery), with MCU2.

Will upgrade to MCU2 get rid of infotainment system flakiness?

Whoa! $2,250?! Golly! I wonder if it has to do with the autopilot version. 🤔 What year is your Model S?
  21. JAlbury825

    MCU2 upgrade downsides?

You're welcome! Since SiriusXM doesn't work anymore, I switched to TuneIn and that handles my FM radio stations and customized music genres (SmoothJazz, 80s Rock, Gospel, etc.). I love MCU2.

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

One thing I would like is for the Navigation to have an option to sort our favorite destinations alphabetically. Having to scroll through the chronological list to find a place I visited several months ago is very time consuming. I know... "1st world problems', but it would be a nice feature...

Will upgrade to MCU2 get rid of infotainment system flakiness?

Yep. It gets rid of all that. I have a 2014 Model S 60 and I had my MCU upgraded to MCU2 back in April and it's SO much better. With labor, it came to $1,880.00 USD. They also replace the binnacle behind the steering wheel (mine leaked goo all over my floor). It only took them about 4 hours...

Would like more control over the driver's screen

I agree! And a digital clock would be an awesome option. The battery/energy usage graph does nothing for me too. I have my music art (or navigation) on the left and trip odometer information on the right. I have a 2014 Model S 60 with MCU2.

Error code ESP_d133_acmVsSignalPlaus - unresponsive touchscreen

I feel your pain. I unfortunately had that same problem a lot with my 2014 Model S 60. Having to frequently do the scroll wheel reset was a pain in the neck. I too had my eMMC chip replaced (about 2 years ago). The 'unresponsive screen' started happening about 8 months ago and like yours, got...

    MCU2 upgrade downsides?

Here is the most recent I received, and Ive had two software updates and one game update since I had MCU2 installed a month ago (April 24, 2023)
  27. JAlbury825

    MCU2 upgrade downsides?

No, but my steering wheel dashboard cluster is a little dimmer than I like when it's at 10%, so adjusted the settings so its a bit brighter at night.
  28. JAlbury825

    MCU2 upgrade downsides?

Another bonus for MCU2, when you search for a location in "Navigate", it can actually show you the Google Map information about it. And if they have pictures, you can scroll through them. 😄👍🏾 and the browser actually works!
  29. JAlbury825

    MCU2 upgrade downsides?

I just upgraded my 2014 Model S 60 to MCU2 (after "kicking the can down the road" for over a year). I'm very happy I did it because now have LTE network access again. I do miss FM radio access (additional $500 for the FM receiver upgrade), but I don't listen to the radio as much now as I used...

Refresh Map Auto-Center/Auto Zooms with 2023.6.8

I noticed the same thing. I'll test out a few things and see if I can get the zoom setting to stay. I just upgraded to MCU2 on my 2014 Model S 60. I love the waypoint option in the map, but i wish we could alphabetize our favorite destinations. It's in chronological order and that's a pain.

    Screen Crashing + Vampire Drain?

Hmmm... just to be on the safe side, I would schedule a visit to the Tesla SC and have your 12 volt battery replaced. If the 12V battery goes completely dead, it can affect multiple aspects of the car (opening the charge port, unlocking the doors, etc.) Doing it now, while you're under...

    Screen Crashing + Vampire Drain?

Interesting. What Model of Tesla do you have? I'm guessing either S or X. With a 2019 vehicle, you should have MCU2. Over the years, the over the air updates have helped to reduce phantom/vampire drain by allowing our cars to go into a deep sleep. My 2014 Model S 60 only loses about 1%...

Supercharger - Gainesville, FL - NW 39th Ave

More photos of Gainesville's newest Supercharger! It's been 9 years since Butler Plaza's Supercharger station opened. Next is Oaks Mall Plaza! 😀 By the way, the guys in the neon green are surveyors. Now that the Supercharger is there, they had to add it to the maps for the county. 👍🏾

Supercharger - Gainesville, FL - NW 39th Ave

Here are some photos! Still not active as of today (Monday. March 26, 2023), but possibly by the end of the week. Keep your fingers crossed. 😁 There are 4 head-in stalls and 3 reverse-in stalls. If you have a Model S, give yourself enough clearance to swing in to the head-on stall so you don't...

How can we get a Supercharger in Palatka, FL (Putnam County)?

Amen! I heard that the FDOT had a master plan for that. I also saw a State of Charge YouTube review recently of the new "Magic Dock". It basically switches from Tesla to CCS connector based on the app used. If you're a 'Teslan', it just disconnects with our usual male charging interface...

How can we get a Supercharger in Palatka, FL (Putnam County)?

Thank you for the compliment! I do what I can to help the Tesla Family. Regarding rapid DC charging in Starke, don't be discouraged. 🙏 Perhaps the EV climate could change in Bradford County... one day. 😁 We're about to get a 24 station Supercharger in Gainesville (at Oaks Mall Plaza) and the 7...

    Update MCU

Hey there, Marty! I'm finally getting mine replaced next month (April 24, 2023), after 'kicking the can down the road' for almost a year. The loss of 3G is what triggered my desire to upgrade. My 12 year old son wants all the extra games. :) I simply requested the estimate for the upgrade...

    MCU1 w/NVIDIA Tegra blacking out

Yeah, I had similar problems before I got the emmc chip replaced. You should save up and get the MCU replaced with MCU2. I have my service arranged for next month. I've been kicking the can down the road for almost a year now and finally have the money to do it ($1,800). The new MCU2 fixes...

    2022 Model S Won't Connect to Wi-Fi Where 2016 Would

I need to try that too! My car can never see my WiFi router in the house, and neither can my garage door opener, but boy howdy, it sure can see every other router within a 5 mile radius! Here's the WiFi range extender I just bought...

My Browser won’t load any pages!

My 2014 Model S 60 has the same issue. From everyone I've talked to, the original browser in Tesla Model S/X was always awful. The only solution to this is that you will have upgrade the MCU1 (the original master control unit with the old processor) to the newer MCU2 (produced after 2018). I...

    Supercharger - Alachua, FL

The parking lot lighting had been having problems periodically for about a month. Normally it's very well lit. My biggest caveat is to watch out for speeders. The locals seem to love to "drag race" at 40-45 mph directly in front of the supercharger stalls, which is dangerous if you're walking...

Supercharger - Gainesville, FL - NW 39th Ave

It's almost finished! I give about another month. It's in the parking lot of the Burger King at exit 390 on I-75. And they're mostly pull-forward stalls.

Car won't automatically power off when leaving

Hmmm... do the headlights automatically turn off when you get out the car? I have a 2014 Model S 60, and I haven't noticed such an anomaly. Prior to the previous update, on a few occasions, my dashboard binnacle would freeze or not start up at all, requiring a complete power down. Since the...
