As a Model S 90D owner with the FSD upgrades gonna have to strongly disagree. Along with the MCU 2 upgrade, you have most of the new capabilities

in addition, you get less tirewall so hitting potholes is more likely to cause wheel or tire damage. Not to mention the reduction in range. Wish they would offer an 18 or 19” option without those trade offs for people who don’t care about racetracks.

To be clear, not saying the 1/4 mile is nerfed on the Model S, but the 0-60 times. Based on trap speeds it should be able to hit high 2.x 0-60

This happens all the time but the truth is the sales people know even less than us forum people

Pictures of the early M3P sightings in Fremont also show the Ludicrous badge. All but confirms it will be in the prior Ludicrous performance range. I’m expecting high 2.x 0-60 and high 10.x 1/4 mile performance numbers. Maybe we’ll see an un nerfing of the Model S long range to match?

Neither can be dropped without lowering overall platform volumes by 50% and likely making the S/X program much less profitable.

Theoretically they could put a voltage step up adapter as a work around. You could get away w this if it were a single system vs many but you may be right or maybe they’ll make a native 12v version for S,X,3 and Y. There’s a huge incentive to share as many parts as possible to reduce costs. I...

Now that we’ve seen the new tech on the Cybertruck my speculation is when it shows up on the S. Bumper cam we knew about but the steer by wire system was a surprise and a miss from the original S with the yoke. Removing the need to rotate past 180* fixes a lot of the UX issues with yoke but...
