Robotaxi : The business of competing with human drivers

Just got back from a little over 400 mile round trip. Mostly highway, but navigated heavy pedestrian traffic in Cape May and Wildwood NJ several times. Very comfortable, safe, polite, and expected behavior from FSD. Received multiple thank you waves from drivers and pedestrians lol. Disengaged 4...

A nut size scratch and a nut size dent

If this is the worst you can find in your Tesla, or any other vehicle for that matter, congrats and enjoy your new car!

Robotaxi : The business of competing with human drivers

Waymo is impressive, but will face scalability challenges due to the high vehicle costs and the digital mapping that requires constant updating

Robotaxi : The business of competing with human drivers

Based on my commutes, it's more like every 150 miles or so. Several times better than it was only a couple of months ago. It'll get there and much faster than we think

Robotaxi : The business of competing with human drivers

Maybe, but I used to think the same about zero disengagement drives. v12.3.6 is so good most passengers don't realize I'm not driving. Looking forward to v12.4 in the next few weeks

This. I would mostly use my vehicle to take myself and family where we need to go

    Blue vs White Paint

Never thought about oiling the wood dash! Will do it this weekend when I wash the car!

    Blue vs White Paint

Just get the color you want dude. If it gets too hot, set the temp a few mins before you walk out to the car

Tiny paint scratch on my new model Y- can Tesla help with repair?

I stopped worrying about scratches a long time ago 😃

Opinion: what I think Tesla should do to "solve" FSD

I don't mind the mirrors folding in. Don't need them until I get in the car anyway. Even then, don't need them. But, yeah, nice party trick but too slow and clunky to be of real use

    Charging to 80% v 100%

Yeah, 80% is plenty for that daily commute. I do charge to 100% when I have a longer than 300 mile trip. About once a month

New FSD v12 automatic speed setting works pretty well

I found that disabling it and then increasing the off-set greatly helps. I'm at +20, but you'll need to experiment to come up with an off-set that suits your driving style

New FSD v12 automatic speed setting works pretty well

That was my first experience and I disabled after. Could have been something else. I'll give it another try

Opinion: what I think Tesla should do to "solve" FSD

Improvements are coming very quickly now. Hopefully, your issue in that area will be fixed soon

New FSD v12 automatic speed setting works pretty well

Stepping on the gas with the auto off-set does nothing for me (again, I haven't tried it on v12.3.3). Unless you brake, FSD controls the speed. I don't believe that the AI stack works like that. It doesn't "remember" what you've done on your drives. Tesla decides what data is considered proper...
