Scratches on Delivery

I went to pick up an inventory S and there were a lot of fine scratches (and at least one actual scratch) in the paint, the kind an incompetent detailer creates. The next closest one is 250 miles away. Before I go all the way there, I’m curious if this is an isolated incident or a regular problem. I’m having it Opti-Coated. My 2017 was totaled; so, I can’t wait until June. Thanks!

Maybe this is why they discount inventory cars.Your Opti=Coat installer will most likely buff it back to a high gloss finish.

Scratches are not all that common, unless the Tesla stores have not taken care of the car. Maybe they can fix them for you?

i got the new one. There were some really fine scratches all over the car but not nearly as bad and they’ll come out with the prep work. It’s funny that they insist on detailing cars before delivery. When I got my 2017 (new), they didn’t.
