Charging has stopped for no apparent reason a few times but easily restarted after closing the port door. I'm assuming it's in need of servicing or replacement. 2014, not motorized, will recalibration or software be needed?

A year? Maybe the hatch is no longer aligned due to aging hinges and the strut pressure? The cinch can't deal with the friction? I won't be replacing mine.

Drive unit was replaced under warranty.

Lack of quality control. The racks aren't being tested thoroughly before bolting to the cars.

An alternative would be to add wire to the new harness from Tesla.

You could cover it with an old petrol fuel pump housing.

The wiring that's laying on the seat is from your handle? If so it needs to be replaced.
