Widest tires on 19x9" Rims

I just recently installed Yokohama V105 255/40/19 on 19x9.5 ET38 wheels lowered on Eibach with zero rubbing. Photo looks like there's still room to go a tad taller and wider.

I’ve been using info from this and other similar threads as I went with 19x9 +34 square setup on a 2018 M3 LR. I was initially thinking of going with 245/40/19 but I bit the bullet and purchased one 255/40/19 Michelin AS4 tire to do a test fit. There is definitely some additional room to clear wider section/tread widths, and some ~7mm to go in terms of tire radius before touching the knuckle. On full turn lock, there is about 10mm before rubbing between outside shoulder of tire and back of wheel well.

For what it’s worth, another data point for non-performance M3

So here's the squared wheel/tire setup on stock suspension. The larger tire OD definitely helped with the wheel gap (slightly lifted the car as well). Living in the bay area, I'm very happy with the added sidewall and no tire stretch. I may go with MPP FUCA and rear toe/camber arms like I did on our MY, but with coilovers this time around. We'll see - I'm content with this setup as-is for a daily driver for now.

For the first 78k miles, We've averaged 288kWh/mi on 19" sport with 235/40/19 Michelin AS4. So far, I'm seeing approx 9-11% hit on efficiency with this setup, now averaging 315-320kWh/mi.

Definitely does not look like stock suspension with the bigger diameter wheels.

You will lose some efficiency purely on the fact you are travelling further per kilometer and the car doesn’t know that so it’s not a real efficiency loss.

I do wonder if/when you put it on coil over and also lower it how much the wheel fitment will change as 19x9 ET34 isn’t overly aggressive.

So do you think a 265/40R19 would fit as well? That tire is 8mm higher than a 255/40R19 so it would be 4mm closer to the knuckle.
It would go on a 8.5 or 9.0 ET40 wheel with a 15mm spacer resulting in a 25mm offset.
