The yellow one is most certainly the pre-EP mule. I've ridden in it. It has (had?) a hand-built one-speed
transmission with a gear ratio about halfway between the low and high gear of the production 2-speed transmission.
The acceleration was quite wicked, even so.

Your note made me go back and look at the pics. I was looking for EP-VP clues.
Nothing clear but the undercarrige and wheel wells of that car looks spotless.
The author's photo captions also comment on it "going together".

Thanks for the video link. What section did I miss?
 
The yellow one you are seeing is the one that underwent durability testing. It was still in such good shape after being tested, that Tesla had it shipped to the US. Last I heard, they are putting in a new battery pack and tuning it up for further testing in San Carlos.
