Re: More I should not speak for Marc, but that man is incredibly busy! He is currently CFO --AND-- VP of Electrical Engineering. Not to mention, he has a wife and kids with whom he enjoys spending time. Cut him some slack for not engaging with the press as much as Martin and others.

I guess I need to get into the shop this weekend and look at the VPs. However, those cars have a better social life than I do, and I doubt any of them will be there. Why would they be home on a weekend like me?

Re: More Please be aware that I took so many exceptions to the Vanity Fair article that I would not let Martin read it. I would certainly hate to quote that article as accurate history. Those of us who have "taken the Tesla ride" all have our own versions of the story. ;)

To my knowledge, Tesla is only using one minor patent from ACP, and I am not sure how long they will be using that one. They had originally planned to use more of ACP's technology, but their designs were not scaleable for mass production. Therefore, it was back to the drawing board!

A couple of corrections. AC Propulsion is NOT selling drive trains to Tesla. Tesla makes their own using their own patents. Hmmm...The model and renderings that I have seen did not remind me of a BMW 5 Series, other than they both have wheels, doors, windscreen, trunk, etc. These spies must have access to better information than I have!

The engineers at Tesla are well aware of this issue. Currently dual-Tesla owners will be required to program each car to begin charging at different times. They have been thinking of an automatic system where multiple Teslas can negotate for charging resources, but nobody is yet actually working...

The yellow one you are seeing is the one that underwent durability testing. It was still in such good shape after being tested, that Tesla had it shipped to the US. Last I heard, they are putting in a new battery pack and tuning it up for further testing in San Carlos.

The paper weight, of course!
