Ultimate User Account Feature Suggestions

Heyo!

With Tesla getting rid of a lot of stores, and their referral program, they're going to be relying more than ever on "organic" word of mouth to sell cars.

A feature I've thought about for a while that would incidentally help in that regard is really souping up their user account system.

From the tesla app (or website) when you're on your car, there should be an option to "share access", which gives you a form with:

* email address to share to
* drive car? [x]
if (drive) {
* max speed? [70]
* limit acceleration? [x]
* disable autopilot? [x]
} else {
* unlock car? [x]
* track location? [x]
}

So if a friend (tesla or non-tesla owner) wants to borrow your car (or you just want to share your location with them), you could just enter their email and give them access. They would then download the app and sign in, then see your car there (with some indication it's owned by you, and what permissions they have to the car). You can of course see the list of people you've shared it to and revoke access anytime from the app.

Also, of course it'd be cool if ALL your preferences were stored with your tesla.com account. That is, when you get into a tesla that's been shared to you, it adjusts the seats correctly, resumes your song you were listening to, even adds your home link and navigation history, etc. Just like getting a new phone, signing in, and restoring from your cloud backup feels like.

Not only would this be super cool for owners (especially multi-tesla or multi-person families), it should be really good for selling more teslas to newcomers because once a friend has let them drive theirs they'll have an account and have some preferences saved, meaning if they buy their own it will be already configured how they last had it!

This could also possibly unlock some interesting car-sharing opportunities for apartment buildings or HOAs..
