I have no idea how serious they were about taking the battery indoors for charging, but I think we really do need to remember this type of car definitely does not have the same mission as a Tesla. Everyday practicality is not the driver and we should adjust our thinking, I think, to that mission.
So, the thinking about a battery you can take inside for charging changes a little if you think of - say - having two or three of the batteries (hey, money is no object at this price range anyway) and charging them beforehand for a trackday or a race. If, say, two-three people can realistically carry/swap the battery, that might offer some practicality at the track, to be able to swap the battery by hand. Putting the whole car into a charger for some hours is not the answer.
Obviously taking the battery indoors for charging is not meant for your average daily commute, but then, this car hardly is either.
p.s. As for a kit-car interior, a concept from a small startup, it probably is off-the-shelf components put together. Could be anything from near final to nothing like final at all.
