Tesla's Tire Repair Policy

One thing to bear in mind is that the tire's sidewall is subjected to quite a bit of stress if driven on at low pressure, and there is no real way to see any evidence of that stress (unless taken to the extreme where rubber particles are evident inside the tire) once the tire is off the wheel. For any vehicle that has the potential for high speed / high (cornering) load like the Teslas , its just safer to replace the tire than take a chance that the tire's structural integrity was compromised as a result of the low pressure. If we were just driving down the block for groceries on the weekend, it would not be as big of a concerned compared to the potential high speed demands of the car on a compromised tire.
