What operations does Tesla have in San Diego?

This map was the first I'd seen of it, but I think I must have missed something.

In a quick search, I do notice a bunch of battery engineering jobs listed for San Diego. Is this just a research facility? Something else that may be coming?

Weirder still.

Just re-watched last night's engineering HQ video.

Each of the other 4 cities are explicitly highlighted in the video.

I believe Maxwell Technologies was located in San Diego. I suspect they still have significant R&D and stuff there, now that they're owned by Tesla.

oh wait -- I didn't realize that Tesla had sold off Maxwell in 2021. now I do wonder what is down there.

Nah, they’d want to highlight the car’s abilities with driving and the robot’s agility.

So the Cybertruck drive’s itself out onto the stage… on 2 wheels. Optimus is standing on the side/ now top of the truck juggling steel balls precariously over the driver’s window.

Pulled the colors out a bit and got rid of the background.

Can’t help but think this would be a super-fun car to drive. I can also see Tesla releasing a Performance version of this with Plaid Motors and nickel cells that would just completely blow away the low-end pocket rocket class of vehicles.
