Not to get off on another business for Tesla to get into but if they bought Boston Dynamics can’t they make RoboCop now? Seems like the NN they have made should be worth a lot of money to the defense industry. That’s actually the last place I want Tesla, but it seems all the parts are there.
Not the Defense industry, the Aerospace industry. Specifically the robotic asteroid mining robot industry. Do you think Elon doesn't know about this opportunity? Word.

The First Trillionaires Will Make Their Fortunes in Space

That's enough to pay for a city on Mars in one asteroid.

Is it just me or is it kind of odd that when the stock is pushed to near record lows people that almost never post feel the need to suddenly tell everyone why, and how much they sold?

I don't remember a rush of posts about how much people bought when it was $350, but again, maybe that's me.

I guess misery truly does love company...genuine or created.

the terrible feeling on a day like this is the best buying signal, always has been on a rough day. I remember the day after Elon puffing weed on Rogan, the announcement of the Solar City merger, and a febuary 2016

exactly. i don’t know what the hysteria is about. but i guess i’d feel much more pressure if i had margin hanging over me, so to walk in ones shoes...

if you can...stick it out
if you can...avg down like @gene alluded to as well

Sickening thoughts... When I read that Ford bought into Rivian (to build an F-150 and Mustang BEV), I got this flashback of the Windshield Wiper Delay invention and the Tucker car - only 50 were made.

I'm debating selling my ARK and going full on Tesla. Where is the bottom technically speaking?

About 180. And 160 as the next

Two thing on surface:
1.robinhood crowd is buying this dip like never before
2. short volume is at peak too, using bad Q1 to press it below any reasonable levels

I suggest, this bearish raid is trying to achieve some kind of retail stop-loss avalanche

To me, this is an amazing setup, tons of energy on both sides. Whoever gives up first, we will see an incredible sickening flight.
What strengthens my faith - bearish cards are mostly played now, SEC won't remove Musk, bad Q1 is in the past now. Bullish side has plenty of unplayed cards - Tesla is spawning SC network and building GF in Asia, FSD showing progress, insurance, FCA payment is something so special they have to keep their mouths shut despite I see how itching they're to reveal. And at last, some day Donnie will get his china deal signed. I wish I could add more stock.

Robinhood's instant transfers are not working for me today. I'm stuck here with money waiting to go in when it should have processed instantly. I submitted a ticket to support.

I have to wonder if the shorts have managed to attack the Maxwell deal by driving the price well below the $245.90 price.

The loss of the MXWL acquisition would not make me happy but this deal is over my pay grade.

"In the event that the Tesla Trading Price is equal to or less than $245.90, the minimum will apply and each share of Maxwell Common Stock validly tendered and not validly withdrawn will be exchanged for 0.0193 of a share of Tesla Common Stock."

Open questions for me are the status of the deal (does this wording still apply?) and what is involved in "valid withdrawal" of the shares?

Traders like to brag about loss.

Be careful of traders who brag about gains. They are trying to sell you something.

I don’t recall many posts about selling out at these lows, only a couple maybe at most. But, I did see a lot of people saying they bought yesterday (bless them) and today.

Regarding talk on takeover, it is not going to happen. Any big company worth its name is conflicted. Aapl and goog are squarely competing. FB has its own issues. MSFT may actually be able to take a significant stake in the open market at these prices without moving the market much.

Existing investors like ellison might be locked out. That said I think it is a no brainier for Norway's fund to take a stake. Don't know what they're smoking given their mandate. Even if they take a 20% stake, that would be insignificant in terms of their allocation.

Buffet may be interested at these prices, but you'll need to woo him and give warrants, etc. Not worth it IMO.

Speaking of which, where is tencent?

Just bought 50 at $235. I'll buy plenty more if it goes into the 220's. And even more if it goes lowers. Since 2012, been buying TSLA. Been here in the same situation, hearing the same "the sky is falling" a good 30 times.

Only 30 times?!? I’m jealous. I worked for Tesla from 2012-2019 and the early years (in particular) were rife with talks of bankruptcy and vaporware. I can’t even begin to express my bewilderment at the fact that people would go out of their way just to express some misplaced discontentment about how Tesla’s existence would directly impact their livelihood. I literally had a gentlemen once tell me that he prefers the smell of gasoline. This was alluded to earlier but it really does feel as if we are fighting an ideological battle and, unfortunately, the reptilian brain can be a hard beast to conquer.

OK got permission from the poster to repost their post. To me this is a very elegant way to explain how some people, including analysts, don't see the full FSD trends or vehicle sales trends. In part it's like the zoom in your scientific calculator. Zoom in too much and it looks like a flat curve. Zoom out enough and you can see the exponential. Here's their post from Teslarati.

Yep. And what people forget is that after Tesla parted ways with Mobileye in 2016 they had to virtually start from scratch. They go to where they are now in just over 24 months and most of the AI learning has only occurred in the last 3 months. People are clueless as to how fast this is changing. Stuff doesn't work until it does.

Consider the case where scientist finds an invasive plant species on a lake. The monitor it for a few years and calculate that the plant is doubling it's size every year. By their calculation the lake will be totally covered by the plant in 30 years. Guess what. After 25 years, only about 3.15% of the lake is covered. At that point people will tell you how wrong the scientists were. For 25 years hardly anything has happened, why would it change in 5 years? In 4 more years the lake would be 50% covered and 1 more year it's totally covered.

That is why the analysts and specialists always miss this stuff. Look at solar. For 40 years nothing happened and then it started taking of around 2010. By the end of last year there already were over half a terrawatt of solar generating capacity globally. In 2010 it was less than 40 GW. In 2000 there was only 1.25 GW solar generating capacity globally. In 1970 it cost almost $100 to build 1 watt of solar generating capacity.

FSD won't be perfect next year, but it will work (with some nuance) and be much safer than a human driver. Once the dam wall of regulatory approval breaks, ICE cars sales will fall by hundreds of thousands per year in the US and quickly accelerate to a million and more.

When buying, everyone here on TMC was clapping ... no need for words :)
Only the 5-dan experts talking about high risk leverages got heard anyway ;)

Deadline has been extended to May 15th.

Seems like MXWL stockholders might want to withdraw their prior election pending a renewed offer if these TSLA prices persist.

If that begins to happen then others might be interested if for no other reason than to license the tech to TSLA.
