I think some would argue with this...
$7500 is not 'chump change' and it does move the needle for many people.
I am not sure I would have bought a Model Y a few months ago if not for the $7500 plus another ~$3000 from the state.

Trust me I liked rhe credit
In the USA Polestars and Volvo EVs are selling without the credits, so again not everyone cares
