What was the Battery garantie (8 years ?) for a Tesla Roadster 2.5 (2011) and what could be the cost for a replacement.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
The original factory warranty was 3 years or 36,000miles (60,000km). Some owners opted (and pre-paid) for a battery replacement option that kicked in after 7 years. Extended warranties were also offered in some countries. Bottom line: check with Tesla regarding your actual vehicle.
A replacement battery is upwards of US$40k (family and friends price), and unlikely to be in stock / available any more.
The other option is for an upgrade to a R80 battery. That costs US$29k++ (+shipping, +taxes) and current estimates are 3 to 12 months to get it.
The final option is repair. In some cases, Tesla can repair a damaged battery pack. It is made up of 11 sheets, and those can be replaced individually. Again, check with Tesla.
Standard warranty document (for 2010 Roadster) attached.
