The drive back did feel quite a bit longer..

The dashcam is a BlackVue DR500GW-HD. It has GPS, 3 axis accelerometers, and wifi. iOS and droid apps. It records to a microSD card. I have it hard wired to the car. It has a parking mode as well. Motion and sensors will trigger recording. It will record audio but I have that turned off.

There are MUCH better cameras out there. Gopro, etc. The BlackVue is designed for accident evidence.

And @dockt, if you want I have our entire drive down to Richmond saved. One of these days I'm going to automate the video transfer. Every time I park in the garage the video will transfer to the cloud.

I was more nervous about blowing out the 19" tires than losing control through the curve.

I got a high tire pressure warning for the front right tire after making several laps but fortunately no failure.

I hope they do this next year too - I figured I didn't get an invite because I am in MD, but maybe next year I can crash it (figuratively).

If whoever from Tesla set this up is listening, please figure out how to do this again once there's a Supercharger in the area!

You can bump up the bit rate with custom firmware, and some folks have had good luck with lens filters as well.

The custom firmware I've seen and should try. First I've heard of people using filters. Good idea, I'll go research that.

wow, looks like it was a great turnout. I have to admit, i'm a bit jealous that i wasn't able to make it down.... Combination of work (stupid work!) and concerns about being able to charge there.... anyway, i'd definitely second the thought of doing that again once the supercharger is available

RIR would make a great location for a rally, or TESLIVE east coast. Ample charging, space, near I95 in the middle of the east coast (latitude) and a supercharger is planned just to the north.

I don't know what the hotel situation is though. It's just outside Richmond. There must be good options.

Which to me makes no sense why Virginia and West Virginia are coal producing states. You would think they would be all over the Tesla, since there are so many coal fired generators..
