Ehh to be honest tesla seems to benefit the most from this credit. It was only them and GM I believe over the limit. Now with this credit more EVs are not eligible like Rivian, Hyundai, maybe BMW? EtcI would assume they did that specially to target TSLA. I'm surprised there isn't an union clause too.

I saw Hyundai already claiming some kind of anti trade violation with this
Thought I read that requirement wouldn’t start until 2024? The China one. Also I think LR 3 and the Y (non 4680) qualify? Feel like nobody is quite sure exactly what is going to happen. Not if TSLA batteries are sourced from China.
GM (government motors + AFL-CIO) maybe....

My relative got an email about her iD4 and it said like 10 times we don’t know what will happen and can’t guarantee the incentive, etc etc. I’m sure many automakers are way more affected than Tesla here
I hope your wrong about that because then it’s possible virtually no EVs would qualify for any credit next year. Maybe the bolt but I’m not even sure about that. I don’t think the law has been really interpreted for specific models yet so we’ll see.No I’m pretty sure there is no half credit. I mean there technically is because the credit is split into two categories, but you must qualify for both to receive both. You can’t just qualify for half.

PHEVs should be easier to qualify since the battery is much smaller and presumably easier to source materials for. That scenario, where phevs qualify and evs don’t would be the ultimate stupid bureaucratic government irony. I don’t think Pete would allow it!
Today after 1:15 PM Eastern. He is stopping by DC to sign it while on the way from vacation in South Carolina to Delaware, where he will be visiting more family. When is the president set to sign the bill?
Ryan from RTL podcast told me that the Y will qualify even if it's optioned above 80 because it starts under 80. The consumer reports article above implies otherwise.I hope not, because the configuration I have on order for 2023 delivery is around $82k!
I changed configuration so now it’s under $80k, not just because of tax credit but also for other reasons. Now my only add-on is fsd which happens to put it only about $500 below $80k.Ryan from RTL podcast told me that the Y will qualify even if it's optioned above 80 because it starts under 80. My Tesla rep can't tell me anything yet either. No official word yet.
Ahh. I have a 7 seater on order which is why I didn't add the FSD as it pushed me over 80k.I changed configuration so now it’s under $80k, not just because of tax credit but also for other reasons. Now my only add-on is fsd which happens to put it only about $500 below $80k.

Or don’t. Because FSD is worth about as much as a three dollar bill.just do it later. Charge on a credit card to get points too.
Do they charge tax on the software upgrades?just do it later. Charge on a credit card to get points too.
Yea I think the battery requirements are holding basically everyone back. Juries still out on whether you can get half or not though…Is all of this moot? No Tesla will qualify until 2024? I don't think that's right.
