If you're looking at US-based locations, yes, but there are a number of international locations that have been in permit status for longer.I think Rolla is going for a permit record outside of CA. It is rare for a SuperCharger to go this long in permit without any moment. This type of wait time is normally reserved for California chargers.
To be fair, that exists within the US as well. Each town/city has their own requirements. I've been told (off the record) some interesting tales of permitting processes at various locations, and they're pretty varied. That said, it does seem that the longer wait times are more common abroad, but I don't keep very close tabs on that chart. Just thought I'd make sure you were aware of it for comparison purposes.Too many differences in the markets, regulations, and politics.
Called Bandanas BBQ in Rolla, MO today (July 18/2016) and the bulldozer is there and area is roped off as of today and will break ground today! Finally!
I really don't expect Springfield for at least a year since they still have to build the Macadoodles to put them up on. If, however, they could get Joplin up, that would be preferrable, IMO. That would help the I-49 N/S corridor and would be close enough to Rolla (~178 miles) to make I-44 doable even without Springfield. At last! Now if they can get Springfield under construction this will truly make a direct coast to coast (think NYC to LA) practicable this year. It is time for Tesla to work on connecting east to west via I-10 and via I-80 too.
Part of me wants to "dislike" this post, but I don't want that to reflect poorly on you. It's sort of a "don't shoot the messenger" situation. I happen to think you're right, but it doesn't mean I like that you're right, so I rated it "helpful".I really don't expect Springfield for at least a year since they still have to build the Macadoodles to put them up on. So.... maybe this will be good news. No details, but ground has been broken already and some foundations placed, and if you watch the video it certainly seems like the Macadoodles and the Supercharger are fairly high priorities compared to the rest of the project.Part of me wants to "dislike" this post, but I don't want that to reflect poorly on you.
