Maple Ridge, BC, Canada - Supercharger Update

After some digging through public records and permits, I found the attached document which shows the approval of 12 Tesla Superchargers at the South-West corner of the parking lot of the Maple Ridge Square Shopping Mall at 22441 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, BC, Canada.

Can someone add a blue dot to the map at this address?

Wow, this is a great find! I went past the parking lot today and it's actually just started construction.

Seems like an odd location so far away from Highway 1.

It's nice to have as many Superchargers along Highway 1, but for the mean time we have quite a few locations near Highway 1.

Locals that don't live so close to Highway 1 also need to charge too. It's likely that the next evolution for Superchargers in the Lower Mainland will be geared towards "local owners" and not only for travelers. Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster and Surrey all need many "local" Superchargers so they don't have to drive the Highway 1 to fill up.

Looks like the new Mission, Delta, Richmond, Vancouver and Surrey Superchargers will be in a more residential setting, further away from highways, so locals don't have to drive so far. This will be needed in the future. The Lower Mainland already needs around 50+ Supercharger locations now! If the network will open to other EV's, we'll need a whole lot more soon.

I get where it is. Just figured superchargers were for long distance travel routes.
In addition to enabling long distance travels, Superchargers provide regular charging opportunities for people who don’t have home charging as well as for people visiting from out of town, necessitating Superchargers in shopping areas and population centers. This location is very convenient for people traveling along highway 7 on the north side of the river, as well as for those who live in or are visiting Maple Ridge.

September 30, 2022 - Digging seems to be done, conduits are all in place. Now for the electricians to get there and wire it all up.

Good progress so far. Next is Ladner and South Richmond. Maybe Langley is being worked on somewhere too...
