This is one that I'm super excited about! I traveled back and forth to SE Alabama from Colorado Springs during the holidays. I took the northern route going out (I-70 through St Louis then to Nashville) but decided to take the middle route (I-40) on the way back because of a blizzard in Kansas. The problem was a 30-mph head-wind in Oklahoma. Basically, I had to fully charge in Van Buren (Ft Smith) and drive well under the speed limit to make it to OKC with only 2% remaining (2021 Model Y LR). Navigation _really_ wanted me to go well out of my way to Tusla then to OKC. Even so, I would still have to fully charge in Tulsa. So, I told myself, I would never do that again until Tesla added a SC mid-way on I-40 between Ft Smith and OKC. Also, the southern route is fine too (I-20) - but the middle route avoids Dallas.
