I had some extra sound deadening when i finished with my doors and trunk since the sub was already out i figured I'd toss some on the box. Was this a bad idea? My logic is if the box vibrates less more sound will go out where is supposed to. I mean that's why a good box is made with MDF after all. I covered the back and put strips on all the ridges of the box.

A also see a lot of boxes that have cotton fiber inside the box what's the point of that? I've never put any in any box I've built and they always sound fine.

sound deadening on the box probably won't affect it in any way.

Polyfill is what is used if you'd like to get a little more space inside your box.
